Manchester’s BarPop

Bar Pop is the latest venue to open on Manchester’s famous Canal Street. Helmed by the very able team behind Poptastic, Bar Pop caters especially to Manchester’s LGBT students, with membership cards that offer punters discounts, prizes and more.

Bar Pop moves into the space that was Crunch, and aims to retain the youthful energy and flavour of the Poptastic brand.

John Hamilton, speaking of the launch, said, ‘Having lived here for over 25 years, I feel the soul has gradually been taken out of the Village. Times have changed, and sadly a lot of the bars have not adapted to a change in attitudes and society. We need to stand up and reclaim the Gay Village! Bar Pop aims to put the community back into Canal Street, creating a venue where all can feel comfortable and safe.’

Bar Pop  is open seven days a week.
