Bent Competition – Win a weekend for two at Birmingham’s Pride

We’ve teamed up with Southside, Birmingham’s most vibrant and diverse district, to give away a fabulous weekend of activities for two. This fantastic prize includes two weekend tickets to Birmingham Pride 2013, dinner for two at The Loft Lounge and two tickets to see Hairspray at Birmingham Hippodrome.

Birmingham Pride celebrations will be returning to Southside’s Gay Village from Saturday 25th  – Sunday 26th May and this year’s 17th annual event is set to be bigger and better than ever. The celebration will be action-packed with the flamboyant Carnival Parade, performances in the Cabaret Marquee, music in the Dance Tent and live bands on the Community Stage in the Village Green. If that wasn’t enough, there will also be LGBT stalls, a funfair and a mix of events across the Village’s bars and clubs. Birmingham Pride 2013 will certainly bring an extra splash of colour to the streets of Southside!

After all that, enjoy a meal for two at the popular Loft Lounge. Set in the heart of the Village, The Loft Lounge is a stylish and chic multi-award-winning bar and restaurant.  Oozing charm, character and sophistication, with that ‘at home’ feeling, The Loft Lounge has a great hearty menu to satisfy any palette, with great sharing dishes and classics straight from the grill.

Finish your visit with a trip to see West End musical sensation Hairspray at Birmingham Hippodrome. This fantastic production will take to the stage from Tuesday 21 May – Saturday 1 June. Hairspray tells the story of Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart as she sets out to follow her extraordinary dreams, inspire her mum and win over the boy she loves.

Stage and screen star Mark Benton (Waterloo Road, Early Doors) will play the larger than life Turnblad family matriarch Edna in the show. Mark will be joined by EastEnders star Lucy Benjamin who will play the role of scheming TV executive and archetypal ‘showbiz mom’ Velma Von Tussle, X Factor finalist Marcus Collins as Seaweed Stubbs and newcomer Freya Sutton as big-hearted, big-haired teen heroine Tracy Turnblad.
