GLASGAY! 2011

Scotland’s annual celebration of queer culture.

This year in a slightly more modest programme, we celebrate and question our “REPRESENTATION”.  We ask, are our identities, lifestyles, relationships, families and nuances of issues understood or effectively represented?  When some Church leaders still cry abomination; when opera companies can’t say “queer” and some think there are too many lesbians and gays on Coronation Street.  Why do these things go unchallenged? How do we get more effective representation?

Glasgay! exists in a continuum that effectively highlights our diverse communities and offers interesting and multiple perspectives that others simply do not.  There 106 individual performances; Theatre, film, music, art… even 6 world premieres.

The Festival runs: 15 Oct – 12 Nov.
