It’s a little bit Country

McKendree is an openly gay singer who was successfully making country music from his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. Being the heart of the bible belt you can only imagine how ‘distasteful’ his peers saw him in the industry and he received offers of salvation etc from bible nutters.  Needless to say that although he is a musician through and through he felt that if you can’t be yourself at home then where can you be yourself? So, he met up with Brit dance producer Pete Brazier and together they produced a remarkable album. The standout track is McKendree’s version of the Dolly Parton hit Jolene and the accompanying video, which features two guys kissing in a bar, has already produced quite a reaction and a number of hits on YouTube.
