 This year Sheffield Pride will be joining the Olympic bandwagon by going with a sports theme for the event. The whole day will kick off with the first pride parade in the city at 10.30, where venues, and indeed anyone who wants to take part, can join the happy throng as they make their way to the park. Amongst the things that the attendees can expect is a main stage with a variety of acts and bands that will run from 1pm till 7pm. There will be a dance tent run by Lions Lair, cabaret tent and community tents that will host a variety of activities; from kid’s crafts to acoustic music and poetry reading. There will be food stalls, market stalls and a pride merchandise stall.  The city is expecting a crowd of over 12,000 to this year’s festivities so be prepared to keep the revelry going as the after pride party continues the celebration at Climax, Affinity, Lions Lair and Dempsey’s .
