ANGELO’S

The critically-acclaimed Angelo’s is a comedy sitcom set in a greasy spoon cafe based in London’s bustling Trafalgar Square amongst the grandeur of Whitehall and the sex shops of sleazy Soho, the show brings together a hilarious hybrid of surreal comedy characters!

Heading up the gang is Italian cafe owner Angelo (Steve Brody) who has an intolerance for foreigners, especially tourists that spend all day sitting around drinking ‘one cup of coffee’. One of the cafe’s customers is Shelley (Miranda Hart), the man-hungry mini cab driver who is saving her virginity for Mr Right.

Animal Kingdom

This tells the gripping tale of seventeen year-old J (James Frecheville), as he fights for survival in a vicious criminal family and the detective (Guy Pearce) who tries to save him. Pope Cody (Ben Mendelsohn), an armed robber on the run from a gang of renegade detectives, is in hiding, surrounded by roughneck friends and family. Soon, Pope’s nephew, J, arrives and moves in, but when tensions between the family and corrupt cops reach breaking point, J finds himself at the centre of a cold-blooded revenge attack that turns the family upside down.

Anuvahood

This comedic coming of age story about wannabe bad boy, Kenneth, has lost his job and his music career is going nowhere. He’s a ‘wasteman’ and everyone knows it. Determined to reinvent himself as a respected local gangster and rapper, ‘K’ is determined to get rich or cry trying. With his motley crew in tow, TJ, Lesoi and Bookie, K tries his hand at a little drug-dealing, chica-chasing and gang culture, before getting them all on the wrong side of resident bully Tyrone. Abandoned, K has to figure out a plan to redeem himself, all over again…

Country Strong

Soon after a rising young singer (Garrett Hedlund) gets involved with a fallen country star (Gwyneth Paltrow), the pair embark on a career resurrection tour helmed by her husband/manager (Tim McGraw) and featuring a beauty queen-turned-singer (Leighton Meester). Between concerts, romantic entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all but then… isn’t that what C&W music is all about… although in this one at least, the dog doesn’t die.

The Resident

The story was inspired by the fact that every year, very many single women move into apartments for the first time.
