Manchester Pride – Your First Time?
The organisers of Manchester Pride are asking the public to contribute their memories and mementoes for a unique exhibition at this year’s event, the festival’s 18th birthday. Celebrating ‘My First Pride’, the event will document over 18 years of ‘first timers at pride’ and will be held at Urbis – one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings. The exhibition will highlight the effect Manchester Pride has had on people’s lives and display the many memories they have made. People are urged to submit dated photos, words (no more than 150), wristbands, flyers, posters etc from their first pride experience. Early pride festivals, such as the 1991 event, are of particular interest, so please come forward if you have any photos from that year. All ideas are welcome.
