The Christmas countdown has already begun in Wrexham, the magic carpet is at the dry cleaners, the Genie ready to polish his lamp and Widow Twanky has picking out her prettiest petticoats in preparation, as Aladdin soars into the Stiwt Theatre for 37 fun-packed performances. Perhaps the fun-lovin’ crowd will be shouting “He’s behind you” with more enthusiasm as headlining this year’s magical pantomime is no other than out Welsh rugby superstar and media personality Gareth Thomas in his very first pantomime role! Genie of the Lamp Gareth Thomas said “I am never one to back away from a challenge and try something new, so when I was offered this opportunity I thought it was too good to turn down. I hope we can encourage as many people as possible to get behind it and come and see me in costume!”
